Biography

Erica Bauermeister is the bestselling author of the novels The School of Essential Ingredients and Joy for Beginners. She is also the coauthor of 500 Great Books by Women: A Reader’s Guide and Let’s Hear It for the Girls: 375 Great Books for Readers 2–14. She received a B.A. from Occidental College and a PhD from the University of Washington, and has taught literature and writing at the University of Washington and Antioch University. Her most recent novel is The Lost Art of Mixing.
